Hello again everyone! It's not often that there are two posts in one week, but we may be about to change that rule. Normally on Fridays I send out a newsletter, filled with fun articles and videos I've found during the week. But I have gotten feedback from some readers that they would really appreciate more content on the site on a regular basis, so let's consider this a start. Before we go any further, please take some time to check out the Partners page. AP has several great partners, all working to grow the game of soccer at the lower levels. Check out their sites and lend them your support. Now, for your (hopefully soon to be) regularly scheduled program. Check it out Oakland County FC: Just in case you missed it, I released AP's first dual person interview with Nick Morana and Ben Rode of Oakland County FC. We had a great talk about ownership structure and soccer expansion, since Ben is a member of the PLA's expansion committee.
Fort Worth Stadium: To me, this article is a big deal on several levels. The Fort Worth Vaqueros of the NPSL are planning on building a 5,000 seat Soccer Specific Stadium. This isn't just huge because it's an amateur team building a field, but because of the layout. They are going to combine the stadium with retail space. Confused? Look at the article and you won't be. US Soccer Perception: This is older, and kind of painful, but necessary. Is the US really "One Nation. One Team?" I won't go any further. This is a must read. F.C. Harlem: A BBC video discussing the partnership between Chelsea and a team called F.C. Harlem, working to make soccer accessible to inner city kids, particularly the African-American community. If soccer is growing to really grow and our talent level rise, we're going to need more teams like this. |
