Welcome back to This Week In The Pyramid! Before we go any further, please take some time to check out the Partners page. AP has several great partners, all working to grow the game of soccer at the lower levels, and more will be forthcoming. Check out their sites and lend them your support. Poku and the Age of Panic: A great piece from FiftyFive. One, this article covers the transfer of Poku from NYCFC to Miami FC earlier this summer. It's a little more of a technical piece, covering the issue of spending pretty incredible amounts of money for an NASL side, and whether this is a sign of health or panic. Diversity in Our Stands: Another article from FiftyFive.one. It's hard to describe, but the title gives a pretty good description of the thrust of the article. Highly recommend you not only read this article, but the article that this is written in reply to. Iraq vs Iran, 2015 Asian Cup: This might be the wildest game to ever happen at a major tournament, and not many people outside of Asia even know it happened. 120 minutes lead to a 3-3 tie, and the game went to penalties. Add in the nearly sold out crowd, split evenly between the two fan bases, and you have an absolute thriller. |
